An amino acid isolated from the seeds of Cycas Circinalis that is neurotoxic to higher animals. May cause Guam disease, a form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Reported to an agonist at the metabotropic glutamate receptor. Melting Point: 185-187C Solubility: Water Storage and Stability: May be stored at RT for short-term only. Long-term storage is recommended at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
