ARL3, is a member of the ARF-like protein (ARL) subfamily of small GTPases. Unlike ARFs, ARL3 does not activate the cholera toxin ADP-ribosyltranferase. This protein is ubiquitously expressed. It may play a role in maintaining rod photoreceptor cells and regulating microtubule-dependent processes. Knockdown of ARL3 leads to altered cell morphology, failure of cytokinesis, acetylation of alpha tubulin and an increase in binucleated cells. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-182 from human ARL3, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E.coli. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
