Synthetic peptide corresponding to C-HKVEHESRTQNGR, at the internal region of human ALOX5AP. Species Sequence Homology: canine
This gene encodes a protein which, with 5-lipoxygenase, is required for leukotriene synthesis. Leukotrienes are arachidonic acid metabolites which have been implicated in various types of inflammatory responses, including asthma, arthritis and psoriasis. This protein localizes to the plasma membrane. Inhibitors of its function impede translocation of 5-lipoxygenase from the cytoplasm to the cell membrane and inhibit 5-lipoxygenase activation. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA (Peptide): 1:128,000 Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml, observed a band at ~16kD in lysates of U937 and of peripheral blood mononucleocytes Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 3.75ug/ml using human spleen shows staining of select splenocytes. Requires HIER using sodium citrate buffer pH6.0 prior to staining. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
