Immunogen:
E.coli-derived recombinant human Caveolin-1 (rhCaveolin-1, aa1-104, Accession Q03135).
Caveolin-1 is a palmitoylated 22kD membrane-associated protein in caveolae which are cholesterol-rich invaginations in the plasma membrane involved in vesicular transport and the regulation of lipid rafts and signal transduction. Caveolin-1 expression is dysregulated during cancer progression and exhibits both positive and negative effects on tumor progression. The central region of Caveolin-1 (aa105-125) is buried in the lipid layer, while the N- and C-terminal flanking regions are exposed to the cytoplasm and interact with many other proteins. Alternate splicing in human, mouse, and rat Caveolin-1 generates an isoform with a deletion of the N-terminal 31 residues. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS, 0.02% sodium azide. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
