CCL26 is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that is also known as thymus and activation regulated chemokine (TARC). This protein is involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. It is expressed constitutively in thymus, but only transiently in phytohemagglutinin-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells. It specifically binds and induces chemotaxis in T cells and elicits its effects by interacting with the chemokine receptor CCR4. CCL26 , expressed in E. coli and purifed by conventional chromatography, after refolding of the isolated inclusion bodies in a renaturation buffer. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa24-94 from human CCL26, expressed in E. coli.
