Affinity-purified mouse VLA-5 protein (a5b1, CD49e/CD29)
CD49e is a 135kD protein, also known as a5 integrin or VLA-5 alpha chain. It is a member of the integrin family, expressed on thymocytes, splenic B cells, activated T cells, and mast cells. CD49e associates with CD29 (integrin beta1 chain) to form the fibronectin receptor (VLA-5). CD49e plays a critical role in both adhesion and T cell costimulation. The primary ligand for CD49e/CD29 (VLA-5) is fibronectin. This antibody has been shown to partially block CD49e mediated interactions. It has also been observed that plate-bound C2405-02F6 antibody enhances IgE mediated degranulation and that in vivo injection of this antibody, in combination with anti-CD49d and anti-CD61 antibodies, blocks passive cutaneous anaphylaxis. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 0.25ug/10e6 cells in 100ul volume Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
