Human CD56 is an adhesion molecule from the Ig superfamily which is restricted to NK cells in the immune system. It is believed that NK cells form a first line of defense against tumor cells and cells infected with bacteria and viruses. A soluble fusion protein consisting of the extracellular loop domains 1-4 (370aa) of human CD56 fused to murine IgG2a Fc (232aa), with a predicted monomeric molecular weight of 67.8kD. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Functional Application: C2410-55H blocks binding of anti-human CD56 antibody (C2410-55C) to NK cells present in ficoll prepared human PBL. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
