CD58 antigen has wide distribution over many tissues, both hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, including leukocytes, erythocytes, endothelial cells, epithelial cells and fibroblasts. There are two isoforms of CD58 antigen: a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)- anchor form and a transmembrane form. Both forms are expressed on the same cell type, and however, erythrocytes only have the GPI-anchored isoform. CD58 is the ligand for CD2, and functions as an adhesion molecule and mediates its signal through CD2, which is expressed on T cells and NK cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
