CITED2 is an important transcriptional cofactor involved in multiple organ development. It is a cAMP-responsive element-binding protein (CBP)/p300 interacting transcriptional modulator and a proposed negative regulator for hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1_ through its competitive binding with HIF-1_ to CBP/p300. CITED2 is necessary for mouse fetal liver hematopoiesis and is required for the proper formation of the hyaloid vasculature and for lens morphogenesis. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-270 of human CITED2, fused to His-Tag, expressed in E. coli.
