C5 isolated and purified from pooled normal human serum.
C5 is a component of the complement system. It has a molecular weight of 190000. The activated protein forms with the complement factors C6-C9 the membrane attack-complex. Applications: Suitable for use in Indirect Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Fluorescein/IgG protein molar ratio (F/P): ~2.2 Excitation: 492nm Emission: 515nm Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder is stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O prior to use. To avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot reconstituted stock solution and store at -20C. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
