Recombinant protein corresponding to Pro260-Arg1231 from human Complement Factor H expressed in NS0 cells.
Complement Factor H (CFH) is a 155kD glycoprotein that negatively regulates the alternative pathway complement cascade. It is secreted by Kupffer cells, hepatocytes, vascular endothelial cells, and platelets and circulates in the serum at high concentration. CFH interacts with cell surface polyanions and prevents local complement activation by sequestering complement component C3b, accelerating the decay of C3 and C5, and functioning as a cofactor for Factor I. CFH is composed of 20 SCR (short consensus repeats). Alternate splicing generates an isoform that is truncated following SCR7. Within SCR5-20 (aa 260-1231), human CFH shares 60% and 62% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat CFH, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 2ug/ml detected Complement Factor H from human liver tissue. Immunoprecipitation: 25ug/ml detected Complement Factor H in conditioned cell culture medium spiked with recombinant human Complement Factor H. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
