Human Elastase is a 28.5kD serine protease that has been purified from human neutrophils. Elastase is also present in the pancreas, leukocytes and serum. Molecular Weight: ~28.5kD Activity: 20-22 U/mg protein Unit Definition: One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that hydrolyzes one umole/minute of MeO-Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Val-pNA at 25C, in 100mM Tris-HCL, pH 7.5 with 500mM sodium chloride. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
