Produktbeschreibung

Peptide derived from an internal region (amino acids 252-262) of mouse EMAP-II. Sequence (linear): TFDAFPGEPDK. Corresponding antibody, E3015-05, recognizes EMAP II (34 and 22kD) from a number of tissues and cell lines, including: mouse L929 and RAW 246.7 (macrophage) cells, human Jurkat (lymphocyte), U937 and THP-1 (monocyte) cells. Species Crossreactivity: Human EMAP II. EMAP II (Endothelial-Monocyte-Activating Polypeptide II) is a proinflammatory cytokine and chemoattractant of macrophages and polymorphonuclear lymphocytes. EMAP II is synthesized as a 34kD precursor molecule which is cleaved to a biologically active 22kD mature polypeptide. This active protein is known to induce the procoagulant protein tissue factor on the surface of endothelial cells and modulate other properties of endothelial cells and monocytes in vitro, including the stimulation of TNF-a and myeloperoxidase. EMAP II activates neutrophils in vivo and induces an inflammatory reaction and tumor regression. EMAP II induces apoptosis in proliferating endothelial cells and inhibits neovascularization. This anti-angiogenic property is of interest to tumor biology. EMAP II is also a negative modulator of lung vascular growth. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4C for short-term only. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute to nominal volume (see reconstitution instructions for peptides) and store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
