Enzastaurin inhibits PKCb, PKCa, PKCy and PKCe with IC50s of 0.006, 0.039, 0.083 and 0.110uM, respectively. Enzastaurin apparently inhibits tumor growth via multiple mechanisms: suppression of tumor cell proliferation, induction of tumor cell apoptosis and inhibition of tumor-induced angiogenesis. Solubility: Soluble in DMSO at 7.1mg/ml with warming, very poorly soluble in ethanol, very poorly soluble in water, maximum solubility in plain water is estimated to be about 1-10uM, buffers, serum, or other additives may increase or decrease the aqueous solubility. Storage and Stability: May be stored at RT for short-term only. Long-term storage is recommended at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
