Factor Xa is a serine protease produced by the activation of the zymogen FactorX by either the intrinsic or extrinsic Factor Xase complexes. Factor Xa is involved in the prothrombinase complex, which catalyzes the rapid conversion of prothrombin to thrombin. Its structure cosists of 2 subunits, Mr: 16,500 and 28,800. Activity (Clotting/Chromogenic assay): ~1000 units/mg Extinction Coefficient (1%, 1cm, 280nm): 12.4 Percent Carbohydrate: 2.1% Post-translational Modifications: 11gla residues, 1beta-hydroxyaspartate residue. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
