FGF-17 is a heparin-binding growth factor that is a member of the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development, postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF-17 signals through FGFR 1c, 2c, 3c, and 4. FGF-17 promotes the induction and patterning of brain development during embryogenesis. Recombinant Human FGF-17 is a 22.7kD protein consisting of 195 amino acid residues. Recombinant corresponding to 195aa from human Fibroblast Growth Factor 17 expressed in E. coli. The expected ED50 is 10ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e5 units/mg. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile 5mM Tris, pH 8.0. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
