Synthetic peptide comprised of amino acids 45-59 [MPWSLLQHIDERDRA] (linear) of the human growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF9) protein. Growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF9) is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family and the TGF-beta superfamily. BMP proteins are secreted growth factors that are characterized by seven conserved cysteine residues. In general, they are regulators of cell growth and differentiation in both embryonic and adult tissues. GDF9 can form non-covalent homodimers when expressed individually, while when GDF9 and BMP15 are co-expressed BMP-15/GDF-9 heterodimers are produced. GDF9 signaling might be transduced by binding to the bone morphogenetic protein receptor (BMPR) type II and one or more BMPR type I receptors. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4C for short-term only. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute to nominal volume (see reconstitution instructions for peptides) and store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
