p17 HIV-1 IIIB (E. coli) conjugated to Colloidal Gold (25nm mean particle size). Coupling Ratio: OD520nm = 10, protein content approximately 25ug. Specificity: Gold conjugated p17 binds to murine monoclonal antibodies of defined epitope specificity and human polyclonal antibodies as determined by dot blot assays. Reaction time: 5-10 minutes at room temperature. Applications: A dose dependent response assay should be performed to determine the optimal concentration for use in specific applications. 1. Dot blot assays may be performed in 1:100 dilution range depending on the concentration of solid phase Anti-p17 in the test system. 2. Immunohistochemical studies may be performed in 1:50 dilution range. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Gold conjugates are light sensitive.

Purified by GST-agarose affinity chromotography and p17 is cleaved from the fusion protein by using Factor Xa. GST is removed from the mixture by a second passage through GST-agarose.
