Influenza B virus is a member of the Orthomyxoviridae family which cause acute respiratory illnesses in humans. Influenza B is a single stranded RNA virus which is morphologically similar to the Influenza A virus. Influenza B has a low host range (humans and seals) and slow mutation rate, which although enough to prevent lasting immunity, prevents Influenza B from causing pandemics. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: Indirect or Direct Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Allophycocyanin (APC) is light sensitive. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
