Interleukin-1 receptor II (IL-1 RII), also known as CD121b, is an immunoglobulin superfamily receptor that binds the pleiotropic cytokines, IL-1alpha and IL-1beta. It acts as an IL-1 antagonist because it has a short cytoplasmic domain and does not transduce IL-1 signals. IL-1 RII exists both as a transmembrane protein and as a soluble form that is released by proteolysis. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 1-2.5 x 10e5 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. CFS conjugates are sensitive to light.
