Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a multifunctional pro-inflammatory cytokine, produced by a wide variety of cells including B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, monocytes/macrophages, fibroblasts and endothelial cells and plays a major role in the regulation of immune responses, haematopoiesis and the induction of acute phase responses. Recombinant protein corresponding to chicken IL-6, fused to His-Tag, expressed in E. coli. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Functional Assays and In vitro Assays. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Functional Assays: Induces corticosterone secretion in vivo. In vitro Assays: Induces proliferation of the IL-6 dependant murine hybridoma cell line 7TD1 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
