Recombinant human MAPKAP Kinase 2, residues 46-400, A399G, containing an N-terminal GST tag, expressed in E. coli. Specific Activity: As Reported Unit Definition: 1 unit of MAPKAP kinase 2 activity is defined as 1nmol phosphate incorporated into 30uM substrate peptide (KKLNRTLSVA), (Cat M2355-09) per minute at 30C with a final ATP concentration of 100uM. Kinase Assay: 2.2-6ng of enzyme phosphorylated 30uM MAPKAP kinase 2 substrate peptide MS Tryptic Fingerprint: Confirmed identity as MAPKAP kinase 2 with 23% amino acid coverage of the translated native sequence (see protocol). Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
