Immunogen:
Recombinant protein corresponding to Arg24-Arg956 from mouse Matrilin-2, expressed in NS0 cells.
Mouse Matrilin-2 is a 120-130kD member of the Matrilin family of modular matrix proteins. It is 933 amino acids in length, and contains 10 EGF-like domains flanked by two vWFA domains (aa 57-232 and 655-830). The C-terminus ends with a coiled-coil region (aa 917-955). The EGF-like domains separate the VWFA domains, which are known to bind to small matrix molecules, such as SLRPs, and collagen. The coiled-coil region promotes oligomerization. Thus, Matrilin-2 contributes to collagen-associated ECM fibril formation. There are potentially four splice variants for mouse Matrilin-2. One shows deletion of aa 860-878, a second deletion of aa 929-956, a third shows a 22 aa substitution for aa 785-956, and a fourth shows a 43 aa substitution for aa 236-956. Mouse Matrilin-2 is 88% aa identical to human Matrilin-2. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml using recombinant mouse Matrilin-2 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
