MCM-5 (mini chromosome maintenance protein 5) is a protein with an important role in the control of DNA replication. It has been reported that immunocytochemical assessment of Mcm5 expression may be of value in improving the accuracy of cervical smear testing for the detection of malignancy. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:25-1:100. Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Positive Control Tissue: Tonsil/Cervical Carcinoma Hybridoma: Spleen cells from immunized CBI/CFI mice were fused with cells of the mouse SP2 myeloma cell line. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
