| A member of the Endophilin family, Endophilin A1 is a protein containing SH3 domains, and has been implicated in the trafficking of clathrin-mediated synaptic vesicle endocytosis within the membrane. It was originally characterized as a presynaptically enriched protein that binds to endocytic proteins polyphosphoinositide synaptojanin and dynamin. Endophilin A1 has been implicated in endocytic vesicle budding when its function in cell-free systems and in living synapses has been disturbed. Along with the SH3 domain, Endophilin A1 contains a BAR domain in the N-terminal region, that has been found to induce and bind membrane curvature. This proteins expression is localized to the brain, most specifically in the frontal cortex. Markedly high expression is observed in fetal cerebellum. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500 detected Endophilin-A1 in 10ug of mouse brain tissue lysate. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Mouse brain tissue lysate. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
