Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR ALPHA) is a 52.2kD transcription factor belonging to the nuclear hormone receptor (NR1) family. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors are vital in the regulation of cellular differentiation, development and metabolism. PPARA is also the target of hypolipidemic fibrates, a class of drugs used in cholesterol disorders. PPARA alpha is expressed primarily in the liver, kidney, heart and skeletal muscle and is involved in the regulation of beta-oxidation of fatty acids. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin), and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:8,000 Western Blot: 1:500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 20ug/ml Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment for 20 minutes prior to staining of paraffin sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
