Human PRL 2 (GenBank Accession No. NM_080391), a.a. 2-167 with N-terminal His-tag, MW = 19.1 kDa, expressed in an E. coli expression system. Specific Activity: 1 U/ug. One unit will hydrolyze 1 pmol 6, 8-difluoro-4-methylumbelliferyl phosphate (DiFMUP) per minute at pH 6.3 and 30C Assay buffer: 50 mM Bis-Tris, pH 6.3, 2 mM EDTA, 2 mM DTT, 100 mM DiFMUP. Application: useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, regulation, to dephosphorylate target substrates and for screening inhibitors. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
