This human receptor associated protein (RAP) was made as a GST fusion protein and cleaved with thrombin. This RAP binds with high affinity to certain low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptors suchase as LRP, gp330/megalin and the very low- density lipoprotein (VLDL). This preparation of Receptor Associated Protein is purified to lower levels of endotoxin. Low endotoxin RAP is suitable for experiments involving signaling events and phosphorylation studies, which may be triggered by endotoxin. Recombinant protein corresponding to human RAP, expressed in E. coli. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
