PTTG1, also known as Securin, is primarily involved in the regulation of sister chromatid separation during cell division. It has two identified roles, the first one is to help the transport of separase(cysteine protease) to the nucleus and the second role is to inhibit the catalytic activity of separase. It is ubiquitinated by the Anaphase Promoting Complex (APC), and then degraded by the Proteasome, releasing separase. Recombinant PTTG1 protein , expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
