Recombinant human stem cell factor, expressed in E. coli.
SCF is a type I transmembrane protein and hematopoietic growth factor, which acts in synergy with other growth factors and signals through the c-Kit receptor. Interaction between SCF and the receptor tyrosine kinase c-Kit is an essential step for the proliferation, survival and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, myelanocytes and germ cells, and plays an important role in follicular development. Studies have shown involvement of the association between SCF and c-Kit with the progression and invasiveness of tumors, and deficiencies of either SCF or c-Kit result in mast cell deficiency and macrocytic anaemia. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable at -20C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
