Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of mast cells. SCF also mediates cell-cell adhesion and acts synergistically with other cytokines. The actions of SCF are exerted by binding to the SCF Receptor (PE-1243-50) which results in receptor dimerization. SCF is a type I membrane glycoprotein with 5 potential N-linked glycosylation sites. Soluble SCF is produced by proteolytic cleavage of the extracellular domain. DNA sequence encoding the signal peptide and the mature Stem Cell Factor (SCF) protein of human SCF was expressed in modified human 293 cells. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
