The sm (Smith) is an autoantigen on a series of particles composed of RNA and protein. Unlike RNP, the sm antigen is resistant to RNase, but partially sensitive to trypsin. It is involved in the pathogenesis of Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Antibodies to sm are found in 20-30% of patients with SLE. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml.. Coating concentration Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
