SORD, also known as L-iditol 2-dehydrogenase or SORD1, is a 357aa member of the zinc-containing alcohol dehydrogenase family. It is widely expressed with highest expression in kidney and in the lens of the eye. SORD enzymatically catalyzes the zinc-dependent interconversion of polyols, such as sorbitol and xylitol, to their respective ketoses. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-357 of human SORD 6x his tagged, expressed in E.coli. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
