SRM is an enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of the propylamine group from S-adenosylmethioninamine to putrescine in the biosynthesis of spermidine. The polyamines putrescine, spermine, and spermidine are ubiquitous polycationic mediators of cell growth and differentiation. This protein is one of four enzymes in the polyamine-biosynthetic pathway and carries out the final step of spermidine biosynthesis. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-302 of human SRM protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
