N-terminal His6-tagged, recombinant, human TAK1 amino acids 1-303, fused to human TAB1 amino acids 437-end, expressed by baculovirus in Sf21 insect cells. Specific Activity: ~50U/mg Unit Definition: One unit of TAK1-TAB1 fusion activity is defined as 1nmol phosphate incorporated into 2mg/ml casein per minute at 30C with a final ATP concentration of 100uM. Applications: Suitable for use in MS Tryptic Fingerprint and Kinase Assay. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: MS Tryptic Fingerprint: Confirmed identity with the translated sequence listed in the protocal. Kinase Assay: 19-48ng phosphorylated 2mg/ml casein. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Handling Recommendations: Rapidly thaw the vial under cold water and immediately place on ice. Aliquot unused material into pre-chilled microcentrifuge tubes and immediately snap-freeze the vials in liquid nitrogen prior to re-storage at -70C.
