Thioredoxin 1 (Trx) is a low molecular weight redox protein. Trx contains a redox active disulfide/dithiol group within the conserved Cys-Gly-Pro-Cys active site. It is involved in the first unique step in DNA synthesis. Trx also provides control over a number of transcription factors affecting cell proliferation and death through a mechanism referred to as redox regulation. Recombinant enzyme corresponding to aa2-109 of Thioredoxin-1 fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
