The Cartilage RNA Isolation Kit contains 4 solutions specifically for RNA isolation from different cartilage tissues. The isolated cartilage total RNA can be used for cDNA library construction, subtracted probe generation, RT-PCR, Northern blot analysis, primer extension, RNA protection assay, and In vitro translation. This kit can also be used for isolation of total RNA from other kinds of tissues. Kit Components: T5595-0003A: Solution 1, 1x50ml T5595-0003B: Phenol A, 1x50ml T5595-0003C: Solution 2, 1x6ml T5595-0003D: Solution 3, 1x50ml T5595-0003E: Solution 4, 1x14ml T5595-0003F: DEPC H2O/0.1mM EDTA, 1x50ml Materials Required But Not Supplied: Isopropanol 100% Ethanol 70% Ethanol Chloroform Storage and Stability: Store T5595-0003A and T5595-0003B at 4C. Store the rest of the kit components at room temperature. If precipitate forms in T5595-0003E, place the bottle in a 65C water bath to dissolve it before use. Kit is stable for 6 months. Quality Control: Mouse Cartilage total RNA was isolated from each lot: 1.The integrity of the RNA is examined by visual inspection for the presence of intact bands of 18s and 28s ribosomal RNA via electrophoreses on a denaturing agarose gel. 2. The quality and purity of total RNA were tested by spectrophotometer. A260/280 is between 1.8 and 2.0 (detected in 10mM Tris-Cl, pH 7.5). .3. The RNA is treated by DNase I, and is tested as DNA free RNA by PCR. 4. cDNA synthesis is successfully performed by using this RNA as template.
