Transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) family of proteins has potent hematopoietic regulatory properties ranging from effects on the growth and differentiation of primitive stem cells to the differentiated functions of mature cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Neutralization and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Neutralization: Measured by its ability to neutralize TGF- beta 1 inhibition of IL-4-dependent proliferation in the HT-2 mouse T cell line. Tsang, M. et al. (1990) Lymphokine Res. 9:607. The Neutralization Dose (ND50) is typically 0.25-1.25ug/ml in the presence of 1ng/mL recombinant human TGF- beta 1 and 7.5 ng/ml recombinant mouse IL-4. Western Blot: 1ug/ml under non-reducing conditions only. ELISA (capture): 2-8ug/ml using T8250-16B as detection antibody. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
