Triiodothyronine also known as T3, is a thyroid hormone. It affects almost every physiological process in the body, including growth and development, metabolism, body temperature, and heart rate. Together with thyroxine (T4), T3 exerts a potent influence on the basal metabolic rate. T3 is synthesized from the tyrosine residues of thyroglobin and is found in the serum of normal individuals. Although T3 has a lower serum concentration than T4, it is 5 to 10 times more active. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
