Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient. They are present in the membranes that surround all biological cells because their main function is to regulate the flow of ions across this membrane. Whereas some ion channels permit the passage of ions based on charge, others conduct based on a ionic species, such as sodium or potassium. Furthermore, in some ion channels, the passage is governed by a gate which is controlled by chemical or electrical signals, temperature, or mechanical force. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000. 1ug/ml detects TrpC7 in 10ug of rat brain lysate using IgG (HRP) goat anti-mouse as secondary antibody. Immunohistochemistry: 1:1000 Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo I1904-14C: IgG, (HRP) Pab Gt xMo I1904-19C: IgG, (HRP) Pab Gt xMo Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
