Recombinant protein corresponding to human tumor necrosis factor receptor type 1.
The immunoregulatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFa) recognizes two cell surface receptors. TNF-R1 (also known as CD120a) has an apparent molecular mass of 55/60kD and is constitutively expressed on all nucleated cells, whereas TNF R2 (also known as CD120b) with an apparent molecular mass of 75/80kD, is restricted to hematopoietic cells. TNF-R2 directs TNFa mediated activation and proliferation of T lymphocytes. An autocrine role for TNF and TNF-R2 is implicated in hematopoietic malignancies, and the TNF-R2 locus is a translocation target in several leukemias, suggesting a role for TNF-R2 in the development of certain leukemias. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, FLISA, Radioimmunoassay and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: detects high levels of TNFR1 in recombinant material under reducing conditions, but does not detect TNFR1 in normal cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
