UFC1 is an E2-like conjugating enzyme for ubiquitin-fold modifier-1. UFM1 is activated by a novel E1-like enzyme, UBA5, by forming a high-energy thioester bond. Activated UFM1 is then transferred to its cognate E2-like enzyme, UFC1, in a similar thioester linkage. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-467 from human UFC1, fused to His-tag at N-terminus expressed in E.coli. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
