CMPK1, also known as UMP-CMP kinase and deoxycytidylate kinase, is an enzyme that catalyzes the phosphoryl transfer from ATP to UMP, CMP and dCMP. This enzymatic reaction leads to the formation of ADP and the corresponding nucleoside diphosphate, which are required for cellular nucleic acid synthesis. It also plays an important role in the activation of pyrimidine analogs, which are clinically useful anti-cancer and anti-viral drugs. Description: E. coli-expressed recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-228 of human CMPK1 (NCBI Accession NP_057392) fused to His-tag at the N-terminus. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
