VAMP4, also known as vesicle-associated membrane protein 4, is a member of the synaptobrevin family involved in docking and/or fusion of vesicles with cell membrane. This protein is enriched in the trans-Golgi network and may play a role in trans-Golgi network-to-endosome transport. VAMP4 is involved in the pathway that functions to remove an inhibitor (probably synaptotagmin-4) of calcium-triggered exocytosis during the maturation of secretory granules. Recombinant human VAMP4 protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, , expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
