Control Peptide for V2121-86B (antiserum) and V2121-86C (affinity purified) Rat/Mouse VAChT are 530aa proteins with 12 transmembrane domains and a large intravesicular loop between TM1 and TM2. Twenty (20)aa peptide mapping within the C-terminus of rat/mouse VAT . Acetylcholine transferase synthesizes the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (ACh) from choline and acetyl CoA. ACh is packaged and stored into synaptic vesicles until its release. ACh is hydrolyzed by acetylcholine esterase (AChE) to yield choline and acetate. Choline is taken up by the high affinity VAChT/VAT located at the membrane and recycled for synthesis of ACh. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
