Immunogen: Vibrio cholerae 01, serotype Ogawa, biotype ELT inactivated at 56C for 30 minutes.
Vibrio cholerae (also Kommabacillus) is a gram negative, facultative, comma-shaped bacterium with a polar flagellum that causes cholera in humans. V. cholerae and other species of the genus Vibrio belong to the gamma subdivision of the Proteobacteria. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Indirect Immunofluorescence and Particle Agglutination. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Biological Activity: Evaluated with two panels of microorganisms normally present in stool samples. One panel include 72 potential antigenically related bacterial strains, the second panel included pathogenic bacterial strains involved in diarrhea cases. Reacts with cholera antigens in Western Blot. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
