Immunogen: Vitamin D receptor protein from chicken intestine (53kD). Cellular Localization: Nuclear. Epitope: aa89-105 (near DNA binding domain).
VDR is a member of the superfamily of steroid hormone receptors. It is known to play a role in cellular growth and differentiation, calcium and phosphorus metabolism and bone remodeling. Human breast carcinomas, leukemias, and prostatic carcinoma cells express VDR, which can modify their growth and differentiation. In avians, VDT appears as a doublet of 58kD and 60kD. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. For Gel Supershift assays use V2130X. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2 hours at RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: LN cap cells and HeLa cells Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
