Synthetic peptide corresponding to a thirteen amino acid sequence with the C-terminal region of human XIAP.
XIAP is an endogenous inhibitor of cell death, which functions by suppressing caspases 3, 7, and 9. The protein is also reported to play a a role in the activation of NF kappa B and the regulation of cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors (CDKIs). Regulators of XIAP activity include XAF-1 and Smac. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml, detects a band of ~57kD in human kidney lysates. Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 2ug/ml, Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Recommended Secondary Reagents: Sheep anti rabbit IgG: HRP Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
