Officinalisinin I is a growth hormone receptor (GHR) ligand, hypoglycemic agent and neuroprotective agent. Officinalisinin I directly interacts with GHR and activates the JAK2-STAT5 signaling pathway. Officinalisinin I promotes the proliferation of lymphoma cells. Officinalisinin I promotes the production of GLP-1 and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF, enhances the activity of GSH-PX, reduces blood glucose and improves glucose tolerance. Officinalisinin I exerts a protective effect on diabetic nephropathy. Officinalisinin I can be used in studies related to diabetes and diabetic nephropathy[1][2].
