Dalbergin is an orally effective flavonoid. Dalbergin reduces blood glucose by inhibiting alpha-amylase (IC50 = 21.6 ng/mL) and promoting glucose uptake in skeletal muscle. Dalbergin exerts osteoprotective effects by regulating bone metabolic balance (inhibiting bone resorption and promoting bone formation) and has no estrogen-like side effects on the uterus. Dalbergin improves skin wrinkles by promoting collagen synthesis and inhibiting collagen degradation. Dalbergin can be used for research on anti-diabetes, anti-osteoporosis and anti-photoaging.
